• Installing SharePoint 2010 in Windows 7

    SharePoint 2010 can be installed in Windows Vista and Windows 7 if you are running a 64 bit version of the OS. But if you try to install SharePoint 2010 in Windows 7 you will see the following error message.

    Guess What installing SharePoint 2010 in Windows 7 or Windows Vista is not easy as it sounds ;-) There are few settings which you will have to make before starting the install.

      I have followed ALL the steps and installing on Windows 7 professional with no success! The datbase will not install – :Failed to create configuration database” AND lots of people are having this same issue. It is not a simple fix! I have installed all the so called hot fixes and NOTHING to date has fixed it

      Fran,

      You are right. Its not easy as it sounds :-) . Installing it in a clean version of Windows 7 is the best solution.
